We all like celebrating. But do we do enough of it?
Often, when thinking about celebrations, we think of big life moments. However, we fail to honor our "small" achievements.
Celebrating doesn't mean it has to be an extravagant array or a costly gift. If you're reading this, odds are you process a growth mindset. As such, as soon as you hit one milestone or earn an accomplishment, you're likely considering the next one and take little, if any, time to recognize your triumph. Starting a success journal, taking a day to treat yourself, or going out to dinner with loved ones are easy ways to celebrate.
Here are three reasons why you should start celebrating today.
1. Celebrating can inspire those around you to do the same. Just like dreaming boldly and taking chances can inspire others to step out of their comfort zone and take a leap, celebrating your wins can help others meditate on and identify their victories.
2. Celebrating Helps You Feel More Motivated. When we celebrate through the journey, we can see our improvement. When we see how far we've come, it motivates us to keep pushing even further.
3. Developing a growth mindset. Much of growth is about your attitude – so it's about having a growth mindset. Techniques like affirmations and visualization play a role, but honoring your win is another tool to develop a growth mindset.
Allow me to share a recent accomplishment with you. Recently, Corporate Vision nominated me as Personal Growth Strategist of the Year! I didn't say anything, as Corporate Vision was still conducting an extensive investigation to confirm I should be nominated. After their research, they concluded that I am the 2023 Personal Growth Strategist of the Year.
