It Is What It Is
If what you're trying to accomplish was easy, it would not be a goal. It would not require a set of habits, a specific attitude, or a specific aptitude; it would be an errand. It would be something that you would put on the to-do list like shoveling, taking out the trash, or doing groceries.
The effort required for those things is minimal. You could probably do those things with your eyes closed. I know when I go to the supermarket, I know exactly which aisles things are in—like where the cereal, pasta, and vegetables are. I know where those things are. It requires minimal effort.
But when you talk about a goal that you want to accomplish, it requires determination, grit, attitude, aptitude, and willingness. If it were easy, it would not be called a goal; it would be called an errand. Anyone could do it during their lunch break or even during the weekend right before they pick up laundry. Because it isn’t easy, it requires more of us.
